I only read about half the book so far and I'm finding it rather tiresome. I was curious about the spiritual journey of the author and of course I expected some comment on the stark contrasts between wealth and poverty, beauty and filth etc. But the book dwells on the negative aspects for quite a while and there is so much stereotyping that the other parts of the book lost their appeal for me. I'm now trying to get through the book just for the sake of finishing it.
It could also be that I was born in India, spent my childhood and half my teen years there. I can whinge all I want about India but get uncomfortable when others complain..
